Beauty and the Birch

No doubt you will remember the scene well, not so much for what it showed but for the build up and the atmosphere. Someone did a good job stringing the stills together and adding some bits we wish were part of the original.

Karen did not feature in the original caning series here. She and some of the others are from an earlier series called The Pep Squad that did not feature CP. Here is Karen:

This is an old story from Roue I have adapted, on the theme of the severe corporal punishment of girl cadets in the navy. I am told it has a strong basis of fact in the Russian navy. "Kissing the gunner's daughter" was the usual position adopted, as shown in this lovely drawing by Hans Braun. Notice also the tightly tailored bell bottoms and shorts on the girls.

However the story describes the birching of two girls in PT kit, more or less as shown in these period photos, and horsed by an instructor.

I have picked out Koika as the cadet to be birched first, named Jean in the story. Just look at those puffies.

What the witnesses saw.

Of course, nicely and revealingly bent over is the best way for a girl to take her punishment but history tells us that sometimes they were birched or caned standing as in this illustration, with hands fastened above. See the post above for an excellent example. Here is another:

In each case it is clear that the girl's bottom and not her back is to be whipped as her buttocks are bared while she is still wearing her blouse.
